TRAINING PROGRAMS
ISSC is committed to fostering a new generation of scholars who address problems of social change in innovative and interdisciplinary ways. Students enjoy access to a rich array of programs and activities that promote mentoring relations with faculty, collaboration with peers, and the exchange of ideas with a broad audience of academic and community leaders. The ISSC Fellows Training Program offers graduate and professional students the opportunity to work in an intensive, small-group setting on issues of common interest. ISSC Fellows from a range of disciplines develop and support one another’s research, make presentations at conferences and colloquia, and publish working papers. Undergraduates can participate in select research projects on pressing social concerns through the Undergraduate Researcher Apprentice Program. The Center for Latino Policy Research provides research support and internship opportunities to both graduate and undergraduate students working on problems of particular significance to the Latino community. Together, these training programs create the conditions for forging successful academic careers and assuming positions of intellectual leadership.
